Jack Isler, MD

Jack Isler, MD

Jack Isler, MD, is a recently retired anesthesiology critical care physician. Prior to going to medical school in his late twenties, he studied the martial arts and was a rodeo clown and a part-time construction worker/house mover. In an eleven-year span, he broke 21 bones. Seven of these were fingers and knuckles that were broken practicing the martial arts. The rest of the bones were broken in the rodeo and in a construction accident. It was that disregard for his body that set in motion 30 years of self-discovery and recovery. It took Jack 20 years to realize that he needed to be the lead in his care, not someone else.

Jack has a blog at 21brokenbones.com. It furthers the discussion of pain in a more interactive format.
